3/1/2016 New NYS requirement for students entering 7th grade in 2016- you will now be required to receive your 1st dose of Menactra (this protects you against meningococcal disease). Your 2nd and final dose is given around age 16.
August 27, 2013: New York State Law Regarding Controlled Substance Medications

Starting August 27, 2013, all medical providers with a license to prescribe controlled substances in New York State are required to review an online patient registry to determine if prescriptions have been obtained from sources unknown to the prescriber PRIOR to prescribing or renewing those controlled substances. This new law is called I-STOP/PMP (Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/ Prescription Monitoring System). Click here if you would like to learn more about I-STOP. The medications affected by this new law include the following:

Narcotics such as:
  • Hydrocodone
  • Oxycodone
  • Morphine
  • Hydromorphone
  • Methadone
Benzodiazepines - sedatives such as:
  • Ativan (lorazepam)
  • Valium (diazepam)
Anabolic Steroids (Testosterone)
Certain Anti-convulsants (phenobartibal) and Muscle Relaxants (carisoprodol/SOMA)
Insomnia Medications such as:
  • Ambien (zolpidem)
  • Sonata (zaleplon)
  • Lunesta (eszopiclone)
  • others...

This new regulation will necessitate a longer lead time for prescription refills. Please allow at least 48 hours to allow us to refill these and all other types of medications.
